An exact replica of coin-operated railway station music boxes which
were found in every Swiss railroad station from the turn of the century
to the present day. Works mechanically with a quarter.
The walnut cabinet is handcrafted in Switzerland by a master cabinet-maker and signed and dated on the back. Each dancing doll is individually handmade and is dressed in a faithful reproduction of a 17th or 18th century costume. Meticulous embroidery, genuine dried flowers and antique silks are employed to create these beautiful costumes. The CH 3.72 movement is wound by means of a hand-crank handle on the side. When a quarter is inserted into the slot, the music begins to play and the doll dances. A truly unique experience! |
